Job Duties:
Review information gathered from taxpayers, such as material assets, income, surplus, liabilities, and expenditures to identify potential tax issues and determine tax liability; Prepare income tax returns, advising clients of the tax advantages and disadvantages of certain business decisions, and making taxation strategy suggestions; Examine and review clients’ accounting and financial records and inspect accounting system to assess the effectiveness of controls, accuracy of financial records, and efficiency of operation, and discover, if any, deficiencies in controls, duplication of effort, extravagance, fraud, or lack of compliance with laws, government regulations, and management policies or procedures; Compile and analyze financial information detailing assets, liabilities, and capital, and prepares balance sheet, profit and loss statement, and other reports to summarize current and projected company financial position, using accounting software; Perform necessary calculations, such as depreciation expense, payroll tax expense, interest income/expenses, and other accrual and deferral income and expenses; Conduct accounting-related projects and research to ensure the accuracy of applied tax rules, accounting principles, and compilation standards.
